Why Digital Marketing Is the Business Backbone Today

Digital marketing is no longer optional — it’s the central channel businesses use to reach customers, measure impact, and scale. Two big reasons explain this shift: audience behavior moved online, and measurable ROI made marketing decisions data-driven. Global reports show continued growth in digital channels and large ad budgets flowing into online platforms as companies chase measurable outcomes and personalization at scale. DataReportal.

First, audiences live online. Consumers research, compare, and buy across search engines, social platforms and marketplaces — often before they interact with a human. A strong digital presence removes friction: faster discovery, easier trust-building via reviews, and lower cost-per-acquisition as targeting improves. Recent compilations of digital marketing stats confirm that nearly all customers check a business online before buying, making digital visibility essential for customer acquisition.

Second, measurable ROI changed marketer behavior. Unlike traditional media, channels like search and social provide near real-time performance metrics (clicks, conversions, LTV), enabling rapid optimization. This has driven more ad spend into digital: analysts expected global ad growth to stay concentrated in digital channels even as macro headwinds shifted budgets.

Finally, technology—especially AI and automation—amps efficiency. AI-powered creative, targeting and analytics reduce cost and time to market, making small teams punch above their weight (and enabling micro-targeted campaigns at scale). For founders and marketers, this means prioritizing a small set of high-impact digital activities (search, social ads, email, and analytics) rather than spreading thin across many offline channels.

Takeaway: invest where customers are searching and buying, measure continuously, and use automation to scale. Those three moves are why digital marketing matters now more than ever.

Even if we do not talk about 5G (specifically), the security talent in general in the country is very sparse at the moment. We need to get more (security) professionals in the system.
